Charlie's Church

Class 1 walked up to church this week to see Charlie...for some of the children it was their first meeting with Charlie.
Mary read us a bible story: Noah’s Ark
We all helped Charlie look for the  animals then helped them get into the Ark.
Charlie told us how he used to be frightened of playing with water but said a prayer to God. Charlie then showed us how he is now not so frightened of water!

Mental Health Awareness Day in Class 2

Tuesday 13th October 2020

We thought about ways to help promote good mental health.
Not particularly in this order, but spread across the morning...

  • “Sleep” - we played sleeping lions as we thought we couldn’t have a nap at school!
  • “Breathe” - we practised the five finger breathing technique to help us feel calm
  • “Share” - we shared a story book with a friend in a cozy place!
  • “Calm” - we enjoyed some ‘cosmic yoga’ to help calm our bodies!
  • “Talk” - we learned some different “mood words” and played a game of mood monster to help us calm our emotions!
  • “Play” - we recognised that playing with our friends brightens our mood, so we had fun running around playing games at playtime!
  • “Relaxation” - we listened to some meditation music whilst doing mindful colouring of pets- we know pets calm our minds when we are feeling anxious!
